PhD2Published, a site that is really helping me to think about how I go about publishing from my thesis, has come up with a great idea for developing some motivation for writing: AcBoWriMo! This stands for Academic Book Writing Month and is based on NaNoWriMo which is the acronym for National Novel Writing Month which is happening this November. The aim is to try and write 50,000 words in a month!!! I am setting myself the challenge of doing just this. I haven’t quite decided whether or not I want to publish a book or journal but I like the principle of it i.e. getting some words on a page and finding a good basis from which to think about publishing. I still don’t know what these words are going to be yet either although I think this is probably a good idea. They may just form part of my planning for developing my thesis publishing strategy or may be some solid words that go towards my publications but either way, I love the idea and am going to give it a try. Do you write? Why not give it a try and join in with me? I’ll keep you all posted on how much I manage to do!
